More than 22% of Hazleton families live below the poverty line, and with an 82% graduation rate (5% lower than the national average), too many of the children of Hazleton are headed toward a life of continual poverty. A persistent and widening achievement gap between students who come from low-income and upper-income families is now the norm across the nation. Students of color and those living in poverty are negatively impacted the most. Immanuel Christian School is working to close the academic achievement gap. Offerings at ICS include state-of-the-art approaches to learning support, inclusion for ESL students, and more. Funds raised will provide scholarships for children in the Greater Hazleton area to receive a quality, Christ-centered education. Hazleton needs Immanuel Christian School now more than ever before!
